Player Bio

A prolific winger renowned for his explosiveness, speed and finishing ability, Edwill originates from the small, close-knit town of Kylemore in the Western Cape. Making his way through the various South African youth levels, he would go on to represent the Stormers and Western Province before moving up north to join the Lions in 2021.

Since then, He has made a significant impact in the United Rugby Championship for his franchise, becoming the first South African to score 20 tries in the competition. His hard work and dedication were eventually rewarded with a Springbok debut in 2024, where he delivered a man-of-the-match performance and scoring a memorable try against Wales. Unfortunately, an injury shortly after his debut sidelined him for the remainder of the international season. However, he has his sights firmly set on adding to his Springbok tally in 2025.

Through his commitment on and off the field, Edwill exemplifies the qualities of hard work, dedication and professionalism, serving as an inspiration to aspiring players across South Africa.
